Who We Are

Ribbons of C.A.R.E. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in the Lehigh Valley, PA.

Founded by Alecia Fegley during her own battle with breast cancer at just 28 years old—and while raising three young children—Ribbons of C.A.R.E. was born out of lived experience and heartfelt need. As Alecia navigated the challenges of treatment and motherhood, she turned to her community for support and realized a vital gap in childcare resources for families facing serious medical diagnoses.

What began as a personal struggle became a passionate mission. Today, Ribbons of C.A.R.E. is dedicated to bridging that gap by providing short-term childcare assistance and support to families during some of the most difficult times of their lives. Alecia’s journey sparked a purpose—one rooted in compassion, community, and the belief that no parent should face illness without help caring for their children.

Programs

  1. Childcare Grants (MAIN PROGRAM) -12-week childcare grants for families undergoing treatment for life-threatening medical conditions.

  2. The C.A.R.E. Craft Box Project - Keeping tiny hands and minds busy, comforted, and creatively distracted during challenging times.

  3. Secret Santa- Supporting a few local families in the Lehigh Valley with Christmas gifts and/or holiday dinner.
